It amazes me how the world works these days....I've resisted having a twitter or facebook account because it is so much less personal than actually TALKING to or WRITING someone...Having said that, I signed up for both maybe 2 months ago and I'm hooked. It is nice to see whats going on with so many of my friends that I (BAD ME!) haven't made enough time to stay in contact with...but what I really love about it is that they have both, twitter and facebook, introduced me to some amazing artist and musicians.Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Jonny Blu 09/12/09
I've promised several times to do better and post more often and I have failed miserably but I am going to do better. Really! As you know, I love music, I love books, I love MartiniInTheMorning, I love my family....but I ADORE going to a concert. A live show with a talented musician wakes something in me and the feeling lasts for days, weeks even.
Recently I've added NYC to my list of places I am willing to travel to for a short stay and a live show. In past 3 months I've been to NYC 3 times. Each time being lucky to see someone fabulous perform. Most recently I went to see Jonny Blu and the Iridium Jazz Club for his CD release party and I thought I would share my amazing night with you......
It wasn't my first time seeing Jonny perform so I thought I knew what to expect but what I got was SO much more....Long story short, Jonny was FANTASTIC!
Now for the details…. (you didn’t really think I was going stop there did ya?) I got to the club a couple of minutes early and was told by the staff that I needed to wait outside while they straightened up from the previous show. It was a beautiful night in NY and I enjoyed watching the hustle and bustle of the city. While waiting I saw Tony DeSare show up. As a fan of all things Martini in the Morning I was pretty excited. I had heard on MartniInTheMorning that he was going to be there, but I didn't really believe it....
We were finally let in and I was seated at a table right up front but to the left of the stage. I was suppose to meet another huge Jonny fan and her husband but she got sick and wasn’t able to come. I didn’t know that at the time though so I was seated at a table for 4. After being seated I looked around and saw Tony. I know it’s rude but I had to go up and introduce myself. We’ve chatted on Facebook and he’s a big fan of MITM too.
I went back to my table and waited for my friend to show….the lights started to dim and I was beginning to feel a little awkward sitting at such a large table by myself. I looked around and Tony caught my eye….I said “looks like I’ve been stood up” and he invited me to his table. What a gentleman! (Not to mention the seat was center stage!)
On to the show….Jonny came on looking mighty fine and started off with Taboo from his
new a
lbum of the same name. I was worried at first that his wonderful voice was going to be drowned out by the brass but no, he was terrific. I can’t tell you every song he sang or in what order but a few of the nights highlights were some of his originals (I need love, In a Groove, and Sweet Lovin’ in the Afternoon) as well as the latin standards (Besame Mucho, Frenesi, and Sabor a mi) He was on for over an hour, but it wasn't long enough...I could have listen to him all night long.
He kept up the energy the entire night and I have to say he is great at making eye contact with the audience. Every time he caught my eye I felt like he was singing just to me. There was one lady up front (lets call her barbi,) who was in sheer ecstasy and didn’t mind letting EVERYONE know. LOL
After the show Jonny came out and sign CD’s and took pictures. I waited till the end to talk to him so he wouldn’t be so rushed. While I waited I chatted with Tony and got a picture of us. I felt silly asking but didn’t figure anyone would believe me without the photographic proof! LOL He was very sweet to put up with me. I also spent a lot of time chatting with Jonny’s mum. What a great lady. How luck is Jonny to have such a supportive family? I ran into Bob Malone while waiting too, he’s the pianist on all Jonny’s songs and he arranged all the music on the new album. He is AMAZING on the keys! He has his own albums as well, more bluzey than jazz, but I love them.
I waited so long that by the end it was Jonny, Bob, me and his mum. We all headed out and as a group started to walk back to our respective hotels. Bob was starving so he took off to get some food but Jonny and I walked his mum back to her hotel. Another great example of what a nice guy he is…he could have stuck his mum in a cab and got on with partying but instead he saw her safely home. How cool is that?
I did get the opportunity to buy him the drink I owed him but that’s a whole other story……
You can find Jonny online at http://www.jonnyblumusic.com and on Facebook. His new album Taboo is going to be release 1st at CDbaby.com on Oct 6th. I have my copy but I need to pick up a few more for some friends. Can't wait!
And here's one of my favorite pictures of Jonny...What is it about a good looking man in jeans and bare feet? Enjoy!

My "home" away from home....
Almost a year and a half ago I was introduced to the most amazing internet radio station via the Michael Buble fan club. http://www.martiniinthemorning.com and I've been hooked ever since. They play all the "classic cool" singers like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, Mel Torme, Rosemary Clooney, singing the greatest songs in American history, aptly named "The Great American Songbook". They also play the "contemporary cool" singers like Michael Buble (more than any other station in the world), Harry Connick Jr., Diana Krall, Peter Cincotti, The Pussycat Dolls, Norah Jones, Seal and many others singing those same great songs. On top of all that they are the only champions I am aware of new and up and coming singers singing this great music. They have introduced me to so many new and talented artist like Renee Olstead, Jonny Blu, Erin Boheme, Matt Belsante, Jaimee Paul, Tony DeSare and Tamela D'Amico.

We've all become a "family"! When one of us is sick or having issues someone is always there for them. I don't know of any other chat or forum that generates such strong ties. Granted, other than MartiniInTheMorning I spend very little time online. (This isn't true anymore, I've succumbed and have joined Twitter and Facebook)

VEGAS, MIKEY & ME!!!!
Kenny G, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, MICHAEL BUBLE, Michael Johns, William Joseph, Katherine McPhee, Boz Scaggs, Peter Cetara, Blake Shelton, CHERICE, Sheryl Lynn, Brian McNight, Baby Face and his brother, Eric Bonet and Renee Olmstead….I may have forgot one or two, Sorry! It was all so amazing; I was and still am completely overwhelmed.
Morning ticket winners, Two came from KY, one from MA, one from UT, two from CA, my best friend and I are from OH, and the truly amazing part, one came all the way from Nottingham England. Being able to spend this time with some of the nicest, craziest women you could hope to meet made the weekend for me….well that and I got to dance (kinda) with Mikey, but I will get to that part in a bit.
I will leave that for another day. I first heard of William Joseph from Jim Brickman’s website. Jim Brickman is a pianist and the only other performer who I like enough to join their fan club. On his site he likes to put up blurbs about new music he has found and that he thinks we might enjoy. He was spot on with William Joseph; this guy knows how to wail on the piano, as he proved Friday night playing a very hot Led Zeppelin song (Kashmir). David Foster told us all to go out the next day and buy William Joseph’s new album (came out last Tuesday…I had bought it off iTunes by 8am that same day) from amazon.com…and he would check…”he knows people.” Here is an album preview with William Joseph and David Foster. The show stealer of the evening was a young woman (16) from the Philippians named Charice. Apparently Oprah found her off of a YouTube video, called David up and suggested that Charice be asked to perform during this show. The neat thing about it is that the first time David sees and hears this incredible girl she is singing one of his songs from “Dreamgirls” Well, smart guy that he is, he said yes…according to him you don’t turn down “O” when she calls. Please take a moment to watch this YouTube clip of Charice on Ellen. She sings two songs, both written and or produced by David. Don’t worry; I’ll wait for you.
The best part for me, even if he was still sick, was, and this can’t surprise anyone who knows me, Michael Buble. When he came on stage all of us (myself and the 4 other Buble fanatics I was sitting with) got up and started whooping and hollering….While I kept my eyes on my fella, I could hear other pockets of crazed fans around the arena doing the same thing. He started his set with “Feeling Good”. Damn that man is sexy!
Then he started joking with David Foster and I don’t know who taught who, but they have the SAME stage presence…laughing, joking, interacting with the audience, the slightly off colour humour…..He did a snippet of “Me so Horny” and tried to sing his number on single “Home” with a country twang. David Foster stopped him and invited Blake Shelton out to sing it as a duet. It was lovely. He also sang “Cry” at David’s request, and a little birdie told me that it might be on his next album. I truly hope so!
as with. (I probably shouldn’t use quotation marks, the words might not be completely accurate, but they are to the best of my recollection) We made our way up to the front but stopped parallel with the front row…don’t know why, but no one was actually approaching the stage. I was dancing, the song was “Save the Last Dance For Me” Michael looked at me (He recognized me!…That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it!) did the “come here” gesture…I danced my way to the stage, he reached down for my hand and held it for several bars…I kept dancing, he kept dancing….I know it was probably seconds that he held my hand and we danced but it felt like forever. It was FANTABULOUS!!!!! I hope I don’t get edited out of the aired edition, but if I do, at least I have the wonderful memory. Sunday, May 18, 2008
Cross Country Insanity!
Indianapolis: This time I went to the show with my best friend and the other author of this blog. She's a huge fan as well, but not quite as crazy as I am....Thank God! Once of us has to stay sane.
The highlight of this show was actually his opening act...Naturally 7... a couple of days before there had been a earth quake that scared a lot of people....they decided it was a sign to add a special touch to thier show. They did an incredible version of Amazing Grace. I almost forgot....silly me...I also got a kiss from Michael when he came down into the crowd. YIPEE!!!
The night of the show as the arena was filling up I walked up into the nosebleed seats and started shouting out for a person there on thier own.....I had numerous wives and girlfriends offer to ditch thier fellas and friends but I couldn't find a single person there to save my life.....a group of kids followed me into the next section and begged me to give one of their friends the ticket....She was turning 18 the next day and was at this concert as a birthday gift to herself. I caved and went to find her....She was so excite that she couldn't get her name out...it was cute. I think I may have ruined the poor girl for life..it was her first concert ever and she made it all the way to the front...Michael even grabbed her hand while singing. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEIDI!!!
Well thats all for now, I have run out of steam. I am sure I missed several things, but I will try to blog again as soon as I think of them. Thanks for letting me ramble!

Everything Buble
Okay, it's been a while. I am terrible at keeping up with this type of stuff....but I have an excuse...since my last post I have moved and started working full time again. Enough about me though, I want to talk about my latest obsession. Latest might be a bit of a misnomer, I have been obsessed, enthralled by, lusting after this man for quite awhile. For those of you who don't recognize the name "Buble" it is pronounced Bub-lay...not bubble! He is an amazing entertainer. Some call his music "old". But what the hay...."everything old is new again" And thank goodness, he uses his incredible voice to redo the standards and if that isn't enough he has written several original songs. Two of which have made it to #1. I liked him before he ever hit the top of the chart though.
I was lucky to win two seats to his recent concert in Cincinnati and was surprised by his sense of humor. Lucky me, he sounds better live. (some artist just don't...know what I mean?) In between songs he would make the entire audience laugh. Sometime he was sweet sometimes he was naughty. I LOVED it when he was naughty. Oh, Yeah!
I finally get what the big deal was about Elvis. I am too young to have ever seen him. Of course I know who he is, I've heard his music, seen the movies he has been in and the movies about him...Heck I've even heard the rumors....but I never got it. Why would grown women scream and swoon for him? Now I know! Michael had me screaming the whole night.
I didn't have great seats but by the third song in I knew as soon as I left the concert I would be finding tickets for his next one. I now have tickets for Columbus and Indianapolis. I can't wait to see him again. Maybe this time I will get lucky and meet him...hmmmmm.....

Kick starting our blog.....
February 5th release of Mine To Possess. It's pretty simple, write about hot men in fiction, whether books or tv, and explain why they draw us. Forgive us if we tend to go on and on and on but there are so many men, so many reason, and not near enough time.
that only one man can bring Rourke to life. We would like to introduce you to....Gerard Butler. Yes we know he is Scottish but check him out in PS, I Love You. He does Irish just fine. He is very good at carrying off the intensity we require of our alpha males but he can also show that sweet, silly, loving side that makes us melt. We could also go on and on about how sexy he looks in and out of his clothes but that should be self evident. Note: Roarke doesn't own a dog, we just liked this picture.Colonel Brandon from Jane Austen's "Sense & Sensibility" as played by Alan Rickman. He is an older man in love with a vibrant, outgoing and silly younger woman. He shows his longing in understated ways...sweet glances, picnic invites, defense of her mischevious ways and kindness towards her family. But the scene, as shown here, that earns him a spot on our list, is for his

delivers one of the sexiest lines, in the sexiest voice, in the sexiest manner.
Native American, loner, persecuted, sensual, devoted single father...and sexy. That goes without saying. The "Heroine" - naive, innocent, sheltered, self-professed old maid. What do they have in common? Passion! He loves his son, he loves his land and as soon as he meet her he loves her skin (and boy, does she get under his)....He tries to make her stay away for "her own good" ...did we mention that she is stubborn (and he likes it)....and won't stay away.... Thank goodness because their love story is one that we have to re-read every so often just to remember why we love our Alpha males. Check out the man his son becomes in "Mackenzie's Mission"....sexiness runs in this family.
